Brace for the Storm!
In today’s very liberal culture, are we bracing for the spiritual storm? Are you in your house built on the rock-solid foundation of Jesus Christ, with the shutters closed, doors locked, and huddled with your family, as the storm rages around you? Yes, you are assured of your salvation, and protected in your faith, but what about your neighbors, what about the poor and widows, other friends, and family that may be far away? What is happening to them, do you know where they are spiritually, are they safe also, or are they being swept away by the rivers of culture liberalism? Are their hearts and minds not focused on building their houses on the words of God written in the Christian Bible, are they hearing the words of Jesus Christ from anyone?
In our daily lives, the storm of liberalism is raging in our nation today and around the world for that matter. It has not stopped, and it is a constant battle. Don’t fool yourself, we are all on the front lines and the enemy is in our trenches. Look to your left, to your right, in front of you, and behind you, the enemy has surrounded you. You may be strong in your faith and able to fight off the enemy one by one, but what about all your brothers and sisters, friends and family, those in need, those whose faith is not built on the rock-solid foundation of our Lord and Savior Jesus. The enemy is tearing them apart, as we sit in our spiritual houses built on the foundation of the Lord Jesus Christ. As we look out at all the carnage, people (souls) are being lost, confused, and turned into the enemy themselves, from a lack of understanding of the truth and the word of God. You may ask, well sir, what can we do about it, I am weak, I am not eloquent in speech, I am afraid for myself and my family, what can I do? Well, in Matthew 28:16-20, Christ gives us our marching orders.
The Great Commission (ESV, Matthew 28:16-20)
“Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed
them. And when they saw him, they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus
came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me, go
therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have
commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
We must (it is imperative) go out and share our faith, we need to take the battle to the enemy, share the Good News, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We need to share the truth, be people of character and integrity. We as believers need to stand up for our faith, share with others, learn, engage, listen, evangelize, and share the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ at all costs. The enemy is in our trenches, what are you going to do about it? Hide in your faith, or go out and create disciples of all nations, pray, read the word, engage in hard conversations, even when the enemy hates you. It is up to you! Are you going to fight, or let the enemy slowly take over, while you are hiding in your spiritual house built on the foundation of Christ? The choice is yours, but keep in mind, many souls depend on your decision today! Every opportunity not taken, could be a lost soul, another loss to the enemy, your choice (so, let’s all get engaged fighting for Jesus Christ in the battle for souls).
