I have been doing a lot of thinking about the current state of society in America today and my heart is saddened to see so many disillusioned angry people. It is my opinion that many people are focused on the individual personalities running for office today (like a reality show) and miss the point of why a government is created in the first place (I know, we all love a reality shows).
The bigger question (in my opinion) is not about Trump and not about Biden, but on what the role of government is in a free Christian society. So, what is the role of government in a free Christian society I ask myself? Well, here are some thoughts:
1. Protection of freedom of speech, of religion, and of thought.
2. A free market economy? Competitive capitalism.
3. Freedom to buy and sell property.
4. A strong military to protect the nation.
5. Freedom from fear and coercion from others to include the government or other organizations no matter what they believe in.
6. Affirming the Constitution of United States.
7. Affirming that the people hold the power and not the “rioting mob.” The rioting mob, which is inspired by the far left, and the democrats who appear to support this behavior.
These are just some questions that I struggle to answer, but, I do not think the mob violence the democrats clearly support, the burning of buildings, the dissolution of the police, the coercion of individual rights, at will abortions up to the point of birth, gender reassignment at will payed for by the tax payer, intimidation and bullying tactics over issues we do not agree with, and open restrooms to name a few, is the kind of country that our forefather’s envisioned.
Now is an important time to take note, understand the issues, and understand what you think the government should do. We need to understand and realize that we are losing our Christian freedom and freedom in general, freedom that the constitution of the United States guaranteed. The kind of freedom the radical left and the democrats want to change, to meet their needs, whatever that might be. A sad day is coming friends, a day we will all regret. So please, engage, run for office, vote, pray, share the gospel, but most of all stand up for “our” freedom, which is stated clearly in the constitution of the United States, which starts with “We the People of the United States”…. Not, we the rioters, or we the mob who will kill and burn until we get our way.
